Practical reading for choosing a murti: understand its dimensions, read the material details, and think through its place in a home or a gift.
01 / Dimension guide
A height measurement is useful, but it is only one part of the picture. Start with the actual setting and read all the dimensions together.
Measure the available height in the setting, including any shelf or alcove above it. Leave room to move the piece carefully; the tallest point may extend beyond the central form.
Check the widest and deepest points as well as the base. A broad silhouette can extend beyond a compact base, so both measurements matter.
Confirm the verified weight and the suitability of the surface supporting it. Think through how the piece will be moved and handled before choosing a large form.
Check the photographs and specifications for the piece you choose. Images explicitly labelled as reference photography illustrate a subject and do not depict the listed product.
